A 2017 community assessment identified key trends and needs in the region, sharpening Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s strategic direction. Inspired by a growing recognition of the importance of strengthening philanthropy with leadership, BTCF launched a new plan to address a set of pressing issues where the foundation believes philanthropy can make a measurable difference, BTCF can provide leadership and opportunities exist to collaborate with donors, volunteers and partners for lasting impact.

ABOUT PETER TAYLOR, PRESIDENT BTCF
Peter Taylor became the fourth president of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in January 2016. From 2009 to 2015, he was vice president, program development and grantmaking Services at the Maine Community Foundation, a $400 million statewide community foundation he joined in 2002. In addition to overseeing MaineCF's $20 million annual grantmaking and scholarship programs, he led the implementation of its three strategic priorities focused on increasing postsecondary degree attainment, fostering leadership and helping Maine’s environment and downtowns flourish. He also directed a $4 million impact investing program providing loans from charitable funds that donors pooled together to support economic development. Previously, Peter was associate dean of students at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. His board service includes chairing Maine Philanthropy Center and Maine Commission for Community Service. Peter and his wife Stephanie, a pediatric nurse practitioner, have two daughters.
